About the Professional Services Group:

AutoGrid’s Professional Services Group works with leading utilities across the globe to deploy our cloud-based energy management solutions. Members of the PS team are responsible for taking our software and deploying it to the field, where it forecasts, optimizes, and controls millions of distributed energy resources, including DR, EVSEs, storage, smart solar, and more! 

AutoGrid’s elite PS team works remotely as well as walking the halls at utilities and acting as AutoGrid’s “face” to clients; this requires superior professionalism, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

The PS team has responsibilities for these key areas of AutoGrid’s business:

  1. Manage all post-sales implementation of customer deployments including scope definition, schedule management, use case definition, product deployment and configuration, solution testing, user training, and all other tasks related to delivering the solution to AutoGrid's customers.
  2. Provide ongoing support, testing, and maintenance to ensure customer acceptance and satisfaction through new product releases.
  3. Manage and maintain integration with various hardware device vendors that are included as components in AutoGrid deployments.  Understand the end-to-end solution, monitor device patches and upgrades, and regularly test interoperability throughout the stack. 
  4. Provide pre-sales support through contributing to proposals, developing SOWs, and demonstrating our solution.

 Job Responsibilities:

  1. Interface with customer business managers and operators to understand the business objectives and then be able to translate these to technical requirements to enable their specific solution
  2. Understand the integration layers between our platform, data sources, utility systems, device vendor clouds, etc and build scripts and connectors as necessary between various systems.
  3. Work closely with Engineering and Product Management. As a product expert, be responsible for configuring our applications to meet customer business requirements.
  4. Once the solution is deployed, test specific use cases and the entire end-to-end solution within the customer IT environment.
  5. Drive software quality process improvement
  6. Train the utility operations personnel and support the solution until completely transitioned to the utility users.
  7. Query and manipulate data to generate custom reports that unlock additional value from customer data
  8. Monitor incoming customer service tickets, provide first line triage, and escalate as appropriate.
  9. Occasionally travel to meet with customers and demonstrate the capabilities of our software.

Your Qualifications:

  • Passion for customer success
  • BS / MS in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, professional services, or product management. Should have utility customer-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering customer requirements and translating those into precise engineering specifications.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
  • Proficient with Python, Ruby, or similar object-oriented language (Java acceptable)
  • Familiarity with scripting in a Linux environment
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies for product development
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and analytic capabilities 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with utility enterprise IT systems
  • Familiarity with big data frameworks, Hadoop/MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, etc
  • Experience with SaaS software and Amazon EC2
  • Understanding of the mechanics and economics of demand response and demand-side management 
  • Proven experience working in a dynamic startup environment will be a plus
