About the Professional Services team:

AutoGrid’s Professional Services team works with leading utilities across the globe to deploy our cloud-based flexibility energy management solutions. Members of the Professional Services team are responsible for taking our software and deploying it to the field, where it forecasts, optimizes, and controls distributed energy resources, including Demand Response, Electric Vehicle, Storage, Solar, and more.

AutoGrid’s elite Professional Services team works remotely as well as walking the halls at utilities and acting as AutoGrid’s “face” to clients. Members of this team combine excellent customer facing abilities with engineering skills. Being part of the Professional Services team requires superior professionalism, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

The Professional Services team has responsibilities for three key areas of AutoGrid’s business:

  • Manage all post-sales implementation of customer deployments including scope definition, schedule management, use case definition, product deployment and configuration, solution testing, user training, and all other tasks related to delivering the solution to AutoGrid's customers.
  • Provide ongoing support, testing, and maintenance to ensure customer acceptance and satisfaction through new product releases.
  • Manage and maintain integration with various hardware device vendors that are included as components in AutoGrid deployments.  Understand the end-to-end solution, monitor device patches and upgrades, and regularly test interoperability throughout the stack.

Job responsibilities:

Working as a top Professional Services engineer in Europe, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Customer Engagement:
    • Multiply communication with customers to maintain a high level of satisfaction from the stakeholders
    • Lead technical discussions with various stakeholders to dive into the details of the implementation of the AutoGrid solution
    • Gather requirements from customers, both from the hardware (communication box in charge of communicating between the assets and AutoGrid’s software), and software sides
    • Conduct customer training and perform user acceptance
  • Internal Coordination
    • Communicate customer requirements internally
    • Coordinate with AutoGrid teams across different geographies (EU, US) and different departments (Product, Engineering, Data Science) to implement the project successfully
  • Requirements
    • Collect customer requirements
    • Drive requirements definition from a software and hardware perspectives
    • Demonstrate hardware connectivity on one site to establish best practices for large scale deployment
  • Technical Solution Design
    • Define technical solution design
    • Identify hardware partners
    • Communicate the solution and the implementation plan both internally and to customers
  • Implementation
    • Deploy AutoGrid software solution
    • Guide customers through provisioning and commissioning of hardware
    • Run individual connectivity test to make sure sites are properly connected to AutoGrid test
  • QA (Quality Assurance)
    • Perform tests on AutoGrid’s software to make sure it fits customer needs
    • Develop scenarios for customer acceptance

Required skills:

  • Master degree in engineering (PhD welcome too)
  • 3+ years of experience in software deployment and hardware configuration
  • Ability to work with large software systems, configure, train, and explain to others
  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex software implementation projects
  • Ability to dive into software systems for debugging purposes and run tests
  • Familiar with M2M communications protocols, and SCADA systems
  • Driven to exceed client expectations and deliver on commitments
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work in a diverse multi-cultural and interdisciplinary environment
  • Detail-oriented, Team player, Curious
  • Ability to travel across Europe and to the US
  • Business fluent in French and English language

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the Power and Utility or Renewable Energy Industries
  • Familiarity with scripting in a Linux environment
