About the Job

  • Design and build high performance, fault tolerant and scalable applications running AutoGrid's forecasting and optimization algorithms
  • Benchmark and debug critical issues including troubleshooting customer problems
  • Work closely with product management and professional services teams to understand application requirements
  • Assist DevOps in troubleshooting product issues in production and demo systems ​

About You

  • Extensive experience with object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, C++) with a strong preference for Python (or willingness to learn)
  • Experience designing and building high-performance production systems.
  • Working experience with messaging frameworks and event driven systems
  • Solid understanding of data structures, coding standards, best practices, software design, architecture
  • Experience with: Git, HBase, MySQL, server-side caching (Redis), and Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud service
  • Experience in designing and developing large scale, distributed enterprise business solutions
  • Self driven, motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Agile / SCRUM methodology for product development
  • Proven ability and desire to deliver projects on time with high quality
  • Able to cope with and thrive in fast paced, dynamic work environment with evolving project requirements

Nice to Have

  • Working experience with the following technologies:
    • Python packages: Celery, Django
    • RabbitMQ, Kafka
  • Experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, HBase, etc.
  • Familiarity with the energy industry 
  • Experience working with data science and analytics teams
  • Background in mathematics or other analytical field
