About the Job

  • Collaborate closely with a lean Agile team of software, QA, and operation engineers and product managers to manage the full software lifecycle including requirements, architecture, testing, and deployment.
  • Design, develop, and own features, services, components and web user interfaces for our smart grid analytics product suite. 
  • Research, suggest, and incorporate new tools, frameworks, services, or processes to streamline the product and team.
  • Assist in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems.

About You

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Passionate about developing performant applications
  • Production-level experience with
    • Ruby on Rails (or other OOP language)
    • RabbitMQ, Kafka, ActiveMQ, or equivalent
    • Resque, Celery, AWS SQS, or equivalent
    • Building and calling web APIs
    • Relational databases (via ORM and raw SQL)
    • Unix environments and its CLI
  • Nice to haves:
    • Experience with performance profiling tools to analyze and refactor code or architecture
    • Front-end knowledge (Angular, React, or Vue, Bootstrap, etc).
    • NoSQL databases
  • Solid understanding of data structures, coding standards, best practices, software design.
  • Proven ability and desire to deliver projects on time with high quality
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in computer science or related field
