Software Project Manager (Japan)

Job responsibilities:

Customer Engagement

Lead client engagements (pre & post-sales), and take responsibility for successful delivery

  • Constant communications with customers and local partners to maintain a high level of satisfaction from all stakeholders
  • Identify key stakeholders and develop strong working relationships with customer and internal team members
  • Interface with a cross-functional team from PS, Products, Data Science, Engineering, and other groups across different geographies (US, India)
  • Maintain project documentation including project plans, budget, risk assessments, design documents, test plans, etc.
  • Develop and execute project communication cadence including regular status updates to customer stakeholders and AutoGrid management.
  • Support sales team as necessary with project plans and estimates for proposals and RFP responses.  Ensure clean post-sale handoff from contracting to delivery mode.
  • Assist functional leads to interpret customer requirements and drive mapping to AutoGrid features.  Develop project scope and charter.

Technical Solution Design

  • Participate in technical solution design
  • Interface with project partners

Implementation and QA (Quality Assurance)

  • Act as a the single point of contact for all coordination between local deployment partner the AutoGrid team
  • Develop scenarios for customer acceptance
  • Conduct customer training and perform user acceptance
  • Support customer's QA processes

Required skills:

  • Native Japanese speaker with fluent English and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 5+ year of experience with enterprise software in a pre-sales or post-sales role
  • 3+ years of SaaS delivery experience 
  • 2+ experience in the power sector (utility, renewable developer or other energy company)
  • Expert proficiency with project management methodologies and software tools
  • Familiar with M2M communications protocols, and SCADA systems
  • Ability to dive into software systems for debugging purposes and run tests
  • Driven to exceed client expectations and deliver on commitments
  • Ability to work in a diverse multi-cultural and interdisciplinary environment

Nice to have:

  • Higher education (MS, MBA, PhD)
  • Understanding of demand side management including demand response and distributed energy resources
  • Familiarity with scripting in a Linux environment
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies for product development
  • Experience in a early stage company 
  • Working familiarity of typical utility IT stack
